(1) 2019 SCV Chardonnay, Gold Ridge Hills, 750ml
Greets with a nose of baker’s spice, slight cantaloup and cherry blossom. Pale lemon yellow in the glass and nearly crystal clear, this Chardonnay is lovely and textural, with silky weight on the palate. The phenolics give a bit of grip, preceding the custard cream, fresh melon, and brioche flavor profile. There’s a touch of brine from the coastal influence, a little green nettle tea and some floral components that all add to the complexity of the wine.

(1) 2020 SCV Chardonnay, Petersen Vineyard, Sonoma Coast, 750ml
The nose shows floral notes, orange blossom, and jasmine. There’s a slight minerality to the palate which works well alongside the fresh-cut melon, Meyer lemon, and baker's spice that are also present. Balanced acidity supports the rich mid-palate giving a length to each sip, the slight phenolic touch leaves the palate feeling refreshed and ready for more. Drinking well now but will benefit from medium-term aging.
