Vineyard Notes
Antonio Mountain Vineyard is situated four miles from the cold waters of Tomales Bay; this special vineyard was one of the pioneer vineyards of the Sonoma Coast. Planted in 1992 in the far southwest corner of the Sonoma Coast, it’s a challenging yet ideal site for Burgundian grape varieties like Pinot Noir.

Vintage Notes
The 2017 growing season was a bit of a roller-coaster with heavy winter rains leading to vigorous vine growth in spring. Bloom came early, in parallel with an eclectic range of springtime temperatures. Moderate early summer temperatures gave way to several heat waves throughout the summer and into fall, heightening the rate of ripening and flavor development in the grapes, and ushering in a slightly early harvest.

Winemaker Notes
As Antonio Mountain Vineyard is planted to Dijon 667 and 828 Clones, this vineyard is a study in contrasts. The later ripening Dijon Clone 667 offers characteristic notes of rich cherry, tart blackberry, refreshing acidity and lift across the broad palate. Also later ripening, the Dijon Clone 828 tends to produce larger clusters with small, loose berries. Combined, these two clones layer complexity and verve into this finished wine.
